Real Estate Data Sharing Partnership Takes Effect Today in Georgia and Florida

This agreement aligns two of the most progressive MLSs in the United States in a way that seamlessly integrates inventory and geography.

ATLANTA, GA, USA, Nov. 1, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Florida’s largest MLS (Stellar MLS) and Georgia’s largest MLS (FMLS) today launched a data-sharing partnership increasing significantly the combined footprint of the two organizations.

Stellar MLS serves nearly 77,000 customers in Florida and Puerto Rico, while FMLS provides service to more than 57,000 members and partners in Georgia and across the state to Alabama.

The agreement provides local brokers and agents with direct, real-time access to reliable listing data on the respective markets.

“We are constantly looking for ways to give our customers an added edge in the market, and opening new markets provides new revenue streams,” according to Merri Jo Cowen, CEO of Stellar MLS. “We are seeing a lot more movement in Florida and the Southeast in general as more people can work wherever they want. This provides our customers with an even larger market to serve buyers and sellers across the region,” says Cowen.

Jeremy Crawford, President and CEO of FMLS, added, “This agreement aligns two of the most progressive MLSs in the United States in a way that seamlessly integrates inventory and geography. Our footprint spans across Georgia and Alabama, while Stellar MLS covers a large footprint. in Central Florida and is also growing rapidly, which creates tremendous SEO opportunities and a dynamic marketing opportunity for brokers, agents and partners of both organizations,” concludes Crawford.

The partnership is taking place amid a seismic shift in the market, with more and more people moving to southern states. In 2021, the Southeast saw more inbound moves than any other region, in part due to lower housing costs, lower overall cost of living, and better weather.

According to the two organizations, now is a good time to break down data boundaries that are no longer proving effective for brokers and agents. The expansion of the combined MLS service area allows Stellar MLS and FMLS to focus on what is best for real estate professionals and consumers. With inventory still near historic lows, this enhanced footprint provides brokers and agents in both MLSs with even more networking and referral opportunities.

The data sharing partnership agreement was initially announced in April 2022. After extensive technical work behind the scenes, the data sharing officially went live on November 1, 2022 for the benefit of brokers and agents and their clients on much of the southeastern United States.
